Prof. Dr. Mircea Dumitru (Rector, University of Bucharest)

Prof. Dr. Mircea Dumitru was born in Bucharest on the 14th of July, 1960. He is married and has two children. He studied Philosophy at the University of Bucharest and continued his academic career as Ph.D. student at Tulane University in New Orleans.

From 2000 to 2008 he was the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy of University of Bucharest. Currently he is the Rector of University of Bucharest but he is also active as a professor at the department of Theoretical Philosophy and Logic at the University Of Bucharest.

He was awarded the "Mircea Florian" of the Romanian Academy in 2001 for "Method and incompleteness; Modal logic as higher order logic". In addition he has published several books and studies on modal logic and philosophical logic.
